Free 4th of July Fireworks Shows in Orlando Outside of the Theme Parks Featuring Celebration, Kissimmee, St Cloud, and Haines City in 2013

If you are staying in the Disney World or International Drive area of Orlando on the 4th of July but are looking for a free fireworks show to attend outside of the theme parks, your best options are going to start with the city of Celebration, Kissimmee, St Cloud, and Haines City. This is Orlando Local Guide’s coverage of 4th of July Fireworks celebrations and events outside of the theme parks.

Celebration Fireworks

The city of Celebration is located in the Main Gate section of Orlando just outside the main entrance of Disney World. Whereas the other firework shows outside of the theme parks are being held in open areas of city parks, the Celebration Fireworks Show will be held over the lake that the town center is built upon with restaurants and shopping in the vicinity. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:30pm in 2013 and will be set to a flashback of cinema. A parade will also be held in Celebration during the morning hours at 9am.

Kissimmee Fireworks

A short drive from the main tourist corridor, Kissimmee has an annual fireworks show each year in Lakefront Park along the shores of Lake Toho that is in walking distance of Downtown Kissimmee. A large crowd gathers each year with live music and food vendors on hand leading up the fireworks show. Around 9:10pm, the fireworks show will be begin.

St Cloud Fireworks

A little further drive than the Kissimmee Fireworks Show is the city of St Cloud, Florida. St Cloud has an interesting setup in that it is the only spot of inland-Orlando where you can grab a blanket and watch the fireworks show while sitting on a large public beach. A splash park for the kids and seafood restaurant with al fresca dining at the marina makes the extra drive worth it. The fireworks have a little bit of a later start at 10pm over East Lake Toho.

Haines City Thunder on the Ridge

The city of Haines City is a short drive west down I-4 past the Disney exit where you would get off to go to Legoland. For the 2012 event there was live music throughout the day and night that ended with a concert by John Michael Montgomery (“I Swear”,”I Can Love You Like That”). The fireworks take place at Lake Eva Park and start around 9:15pm.
