Rock The Universe is the annual Christian rock and roll festival that is Universal Studios answer to Disney’s Night of Joy. Most recently, Universal has added a new theater to host all of their concerts. Some of the artists to play Rock the Universe in recent years include Switchfoot, Casting Crowns, and tobyMac. The concert is normally held on the Friday and Saturday after labor day weekend in September.
Rock the Universe 2012
The official 2012 lineup has been released by Universal and will include Skillet, Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, tobyMac, Switchfoot, and Relient K amongst others. The 2012 concert dates are Friday, September 7th, 2012 and Saturday, September 8th, 2012 from 4pm-1am.
As was the case with the 2011 event, there will be a Fan Zone both nights and a candlelight service on the Saturday of the event. On Sunday morning, there will be a non-denominational worship service at the park at 8:30 am, 9:45 am & 10:45 am that is free with a Friday or Saturday Rock the Universe Admission ticket.
The artist performing on the Friday show will be Skillet, Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, For King & Country, Family Force 5, and Robert Pierre.
The artist scheduled for Saturday night include tobyMac, Switchfoot, Relient K, Britt Nicole, Tenth Avenue North, and the Rhett Walker Band.
Group 1 Crew, We As Human, and Everfound will be performing on both nights.
Some of Universal’s most popular rides are open during the event including the new Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit® roller coaster and Revenge of the Mummy®, but not Harry Potter, which is at Universal’s other park, Islands of Adventure.
