The Dr Phillips Performing Arts Center, upon completion, will be a state-of-the-art performing arts center in the heart of the city across from City Hall and a few short blocks away from the new Amway Center. The center will essentially become an attraction in itself but will be a venue for the Orlando community with broadway shows, theatre, and other types of entertainment. When the entire center is built-out, the cost of the venue will have cost over $300 million dollars. An outdoor performance plaza will link the arts center to the entrance of Orlando City Hall.

The first two performance halls, including the 2,700-seat auditorium for touring Broadway shows, are expected to be completed in 2014.
