Orlando Welcomes Record 76.7 Million Visitors in 2025

Universal Epic Universe Orlando

It’s official: Orlando is more popular than ever. Visit Orlando announced today that the “Theme Park Capital of the World” welcomed a record-breaking 76.7 million visitors in 2025, solidifying its position as the most visited destination in the United States.

This landmark achievement represents a 1.8% increase over 2024 and, most importantly, officially surpasses the previous pre-pandemic high of 75.8 million set in 2019.

The “Epic” Catalyst

The primary driver behind this historic surge was undoubtedly the grand opening of Universal Epic Universe in May 2025. The addition of a fourth gate at Universal Orlando Resort, featuring the majestic Universal Helios Grand Hotel, created a massive wave of global interest and a significant boost in extended stays.

A Decade of Growth: Orlando Visitation Trends

Since 2015, Orlando’s tourism landscape has seen steady growth, a dramatic pandemic shift, and a resilient “V-shaped” recovery.

Key 2025 Statistics

  • Domestic Dominance: 70.3 million visitors came from within the U.S., a new record for domestic travel.
  • International Resilience: 6.4 million visitors arrived from international markets, with Mexico, Colombia, and Japan reaching all-time highs.
  • Business Travel Boost: Group meetings and conventions grew by 3.1%, proving that Orlando remains a top choice for professionals as well as families.

Local Tip

With visitation at an all-time high, the “off-season” has shifted. To enjoy the parks with lower wait times, look for the “shoulder weeks” in early May or late September. Consider staying at a theme park resort to utilize their internal transportation systems and avoid the peak I-4 commute altogether!
