On Thanksgiving and Christmas Day at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel on Universal Boulevard, just off International Drive, a grande holiday buffet and brunch is prepared for guests and visitors to the hotel from 11:30 am until 7 pm at the Café Osceola Restaurant. Rosen Shingle Creek Holiday Buffet
We’ve been to a few buffets over the years and the holiday buffet at Café Osceola is one of the largest buffets we have seen. Not typically a fan of buffets in general on a typical day (I’ve never been to a Golden Corral yet), all of the items at Café Osceola were fresh and of great quality. In addition to the number of items at the buffet, there are several stations at Café Osceola where the menu items can be customized and are made fresh to order including a pasta station, Eggs Benedict, Waffle, and Omelet Station, Sushi Bar, Prime Rib carving station, and a Creme bru le and deep-fried holiday Oreo station (see video below).
In addition to the stations, there is a large assortment of breads, cheese, desserts, pies, pastries, breakfast items, and salad bar.
Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and felt that the buffet was executed very well. The servers, hosts, and hostess were very friendly and took great care of us. The buffet is a winner in that it has the best parts of what people enjoy in a buffet with custom hot stations to order your food fresh and custom. We have heard that the Thanksgiving buffet typically sells out and the Christmas Buffet is very popular as well.
If you are local and will be having family in town that will be a little too much for your home or you just want to skip over all of the prep work and cleanup on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, Café Osceola at the Shingle Creek Hotel is a great option. Neighboring hotels the Rosen Centre and Rosen Plaza also have holiday buffets.
Buffet Prices and Valet Validation
Prices for the 2012 event at the Rosen Shingle Creek were $64.95 per adult and $24.95 per child age 4-12. Children 3 and under are free with a paying adult. Florida Residents are entitled to a 25% discount and valet parking is free with validation at the restaurant front desk. Prices do not include tax or gratuity.
