UCF’s Spirit Splash is the ultimate college football pep-rally finishing off the University of Central Florida’s homecoming week the day before the homecoming parade and football game. It is a tradition dating back to the mid-1990’s when a few students jumped into the reflecting pond in the center of campus during the homecoming pep rally. There was not a fountain in the pond at the time and the rumor around campus was that the administration was thinking about filling in the pond and placing a tall bell tower in it’s place. However, the spirit splash tradition ended that speculation and it is now one of the most celebrated and unique college events that happens each school year.
