Orlando to Host Final Stop of Olympic Q Series for LA28

Olympic Q Series Orlando 2028

Orlando is officially on the road to the LA28 Olympic Games! The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that our city will host the fourth and final stop of the Olympic Q Series from June 8th through June 11th, 2028.

This high-energy, multi-sport festival will serve as the decisive qualification pathway for athletes in some of the Olympics’ most exciting urban and emerging disciplines. As the final stop before the Games begin in Los Angeles, Orlando will be the place where dreams are realized and final Olympic berths are secured.

A Global Stage in the Heart of Florida

Orlando joins an elite group of global host cities for the 2028 series, including Tokyo, Shanghai, and Montreal. The selection highlights Orlando’s growing reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting events, following the successful hosting of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon.

The Sports

The expanded Olympic Q Series for 2028 will feature six core sports and disciplines:

  • 3×3 Basketball
  • Beach Volleyball
  • BMX Freestyle
  • Sport Climbing
  • Skateboarding
  • Flag Football (Making its highly anticipated Olympic debut at LA28)

Festival Atmosphere

True to the “Q Series” format, the event won’t just be about competition. Expect a vibrant, youth-focused festival atmosphere that combines elite sports with music, culture, and interactive fan zones. The goal is to bring the Olympic spirit directly to the urban heart of host cities, engaging a new generation of fans.

Local Tip

While the specific venue within Orlando is still being finalized, these “urban park” style events typically thrive in central, walkable hubs. Keep an eye on Lake Eola Park or the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as potential candidates for this high-octane festival setting.
