Altamonte Springs Travel Guide featuring Altamonte Mall and Cranes Roost Park

Altamonte SpringsAltamonte Springs is a city 10 miles north of Downtown Orlando that has Seminole County’s most successful mall by the same name of the city, Altamonte Mall.

Altamonte Mall

One of the highlights of Altamonte Mall is Pinocchio’s Puppet Theatre, a children’s theatre that features Marionette Puppet Shows. Altamonte Mall also has great dining choices with a Season’s 52 and Bahama Breeze Restaurant (see map below). If you are looking to grab a sandwich or salad, Jason’s Deli is popular for their salad bar, sandwiches with generous portions, and a free ice cream cone with every meal.

Uptown Altamonte

Adjacent to the mall is the outdoor shopping center of Uptown Altamonte at Crane’s Roost Park that features a scaled down water fountain show (think the Bellagio fountain, but much smaller). The best time to visit Uptown Altamonte is on July 3rd each year to celebrate the 4th of July with XL 106.7’s Red, Hot, and Boom Concert and Firework Show. The annual 4th of July show choreographs fireworks with patriotic music over Lake Cranes Roost in the round and is one of the most popular events around Orlando during the year.

Halloween Night is also a popular time to visit Uptown Altamonte to celebrate Halloween festivities in a family friendly atmosphere that draws several hundred families. In walking distance of both Altamonte Mall and Uptown Altamonte is an AMC movie theater.

Where to Stay

If you are visiting Altamonte Springs, we recommend you stay at the Embassy Suites Orlando North, that is in walking distance of Uptown Altamonte and the Altamonte Mall.
