Christmas Lights Displays in Orlando Neighborhoods and Homes

© Orlando Local Guide

Christmas Lights can be found all around Orlando in the city’s communities and neighborhoods. Some of the best displays can be found in some of the city’s oldest neighborhoods of Delaney Park, Conway, and Belle Isle (See scenic drive in map below). There are not as many planned communities or cookie cutter homes in these neighborhoods and the older homes are mostly smaller in size so they are ideal for Christmas Lights Displays. These are completely residential sites so the best time for viewing is between the hours of 7 pm-9 pm.

Winter Park Displays

The first of the best light displays I have seen in any residential neighborhood resides in the Winter Park Corners neighborhood near the intersection of Aloma and Lakemont that resides behind the strip plaza that has the Tijuana Flats and Outback Steakhouse. The houses on the streets appear to have at least 85% participation with a lot of the homes putting up a significant amount of lights and displays. Please see the map below for the driving directions to the Winter Park Corners neighborhood and POV video of the neighborhood.

The second of best light displays that I have seen comes from a reader who pointed out in the comments section in 2010 of a house on Howell Branch to check out that is a “Get out of your car and check it out” type of house to look at. After visiting the location, I learned the house has been featured on the Travel Channel and there are several other homes in the Garden Grove community that go all out as well with lights and Christmas Villages displays (see picture above and video below of the Garden Grove neighborhood).

Baldwin Park Displays

In the community of Baldwin Park is the home of the McBride family (see picture to the right) at 4564 New Broad St. Orlando, FL 32814 that has more than 75,000 lights for 2020 with a flying Santa, snow cannon, Grinch, and more with the light display from sunset until 12AM.  Every year they use the display to raise money for a local charity and match all donations 100%.

Chuluota, Florida

Oviedo and Chuluota Christmas Lights

Submitted in our comments section below from Kristin and Paul, there is a great Christmas Lights display near Oviedo in Chulota, Florida called Kilowatt Christmas that synchronizes over 18,000 lights to Christmas music that you can pick up on your FM receiver on channel 93.9. The house is located at 536 Wax Palm lane, Chuluota, Florida 32766. Check out their Youtube page here to see their impressive shows. The show runs Sunday through Thursday from 5:45 pm until 10 pm and until 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree Show

Downtown Orlando‘s Lake Eola Park has a Christmas Tree show at the city’s official Christmas tree. Every night starting at 5:45 p.m the Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree comes alive with a synchronized light and music show. While you are there, you can take in the other Christmas decorations at the park. Many holiday events take place at the Walt Disney Amphitheater on every Saturday and Sunday in the month of December leading up to Christmas to make a night of it.

Christmas Lights Neighborhood Map

I’ve included an interactive Google Map below of the different communities that I recommend to go searching for Christmas Lights. The Scenic Christmas Lights Drive is not an exact match of homes you will see but is rather a rough guide that is meant to deviate from as you find homes with lights around Orlando. The Winter Park Corners Scenic Drive is a short drive through the neighborhood that contains a strong amount of lights to view. Please add homes with great lights in the comments section below and I will add them to the map as we work to build an ultimate user generated map of Christmas Lights around Orlando.

Come back to this page using the shorter URL: http://OrlandoLocalGuide.com/Lights

The map below has rankings of lights from 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest (Check out the house if you are in the neighborhood) to 10 being the highest (Make a special trip to see these lights) and everything in between. I will continue to add lights as I find them or comments are made below:

Christmas Displays of Years Past

Orlando Local Guide has been posting Christmas Light Displays since 2010 and below we celebrate a Christmas Light Display of years past that do not have displays this year. The owners of the displays below spent countless hours and a lot of their own funding to celebrate Christmas with dazzling displays for the Orlando community.

Christmas in the Shire (Final Year: 2015)

Christmas in the Shire (pictured to the left) was one of the best displays of Christmas Lights in Orlando that moved in 2014 from the Hunter’s Creek neighborhood of South Orlando to the Grand Cove neighborhood of Falcon Trace where Andrew Albertson has built a free Christmas Tree attraction out of his home complete with Christmas Trees, lights, and ornaments. Over 60 tree’s are lit up on the outside of Andrew’s home with an additional 40 tree’s on the inside. Andrew says that the display’s inspiration is his grandmother who “introduced me to the magic of sharing the experience with friends and family!” He goes on to say that “Christmas is a time of love and sharing with friends and family. Christmas in the Shire gives me the perfect opportunity to spread joy to people!”
